Candace
Executive Director

Candace has been a prosecutor with the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office for 16 years.  She was most recently assigned to the Special Victims Unit handling domestic violence cases and crimes against children.  Through her work in the District Attorney’s Office she identified the need for a Family Justice Center, and with the leadership of former DA Pete Weir, made that vision a reality in PorchLight.

Nicole
Deputy Director

Nicole has worked in Sexual Assault Prevention Education, in corporate purchasing, and in victim services at the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Nicole has found a way to help the community and utilize her skills working with staff, community partners, interns and volunteers at PorchLight. Nicole enjoys traveling around the world, exploring Colorado and spending time with her family and pets.

Brandon
Development & Communications Manager

Brandon has spent the last seven years working in victim advocacy in a variety of settings including law enforcement based advocacy, court advocacy and human trafficking case management. This passion and first hand knowledge of the barriers survivors often faced in our community is a motivating factor in his work to support PorchLight's continued development and advancement. Brandon originally joined the team at PorchLight in 2018 as a volunteer, and was hired as staff in 2023.

Gioany
Bilingual Navigator

Gioany joined PorchLight in November of 2020. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from New Mexico Highlands University and has been doing advocacy work for 8 Years. Prior to joining PorchLight, Gioany provided direct services to victims of crime and tragedy as a Victim Advocate for Brighton/Commerce City Victim Services Unit. Gioany enjoys helping people overcome tough situations and become resilient throughout the process.

Nanci
Administrative Coordinator

Nanci is responsible for front desk operations and providing administrative support to PorchLight staff and partners. She has a bachelor’s degree in human services from MSU Denver. Before joining the PorchLight team in 2020, she worked as an administrative coordinator and paralegal. Nanci believes strongly in the mission of PorchLight and is excited about the opportunity to support PorchLight staff, partners, and Guests.

Sara
Navigator

Prior to devoting herself to her passion as a Navigator with PorchLight, Sara could be found responding to Jefferson County’s 9-1-1 phone calls as an Emergency Dispatcher. Sara got her feet wet working in victim’s services as a Volunteer Victim Advocate with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.  Prior to that she worked in multiple roles in a human service and public safety capacity. If you were looking for Sara on the weekends, you would most likely find her exploring mountain towns and trying out new restaurants around town.

Chelsea
Administrative Assistant

Chelsea is a recent transplant, hailing from Lexington, Kentucky. Chelsea attended Eastern Kentucky University where she studied emergency medical care. Chelsea uses her diverse set of experiences including working as an EMT, in banking, and in finance to ensure PorchLight runs smoothly. Outside of work, Chelsea can be found exploring Colorado favorites like the Buffalo Bill Museum and hitting local dog parks with her sassy 2-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, Pearl.

Alysia
Navigator

Alysia joined PorchLight in April of 2023. Prior to her work at PorchLight she worked in early childhood education, providing case management services and supporting families in working towards self-sufficiency. Throughout her career she has worked in child abuse and neglect prevention services, child advocacy, and direct services to survivors of sexual violence and outpatient mental health. She is passionate about supporting people on their journey and providing a safe space for them when they need it most.
